Yes, all the questions that were asked involved skills or qualities that can be improved or trained with discipline and determination, a matter of whether you are ready to work at them. Except for the jar question which I think would involve problem solving with qualities found in programmers at a very high level.
I recently got some great feedback on the jar question. That question could be improved. Let me give some background on what I was thinking at the time. The inspiration for that question wasn’t a jar at all. I had a pool pump with a screw-on cover that I was struggling to open. I tried opening it by hand and it wouldn’t budge. It was plastic so I couldn’t hit it with something. I ended up cutting a slot in a board and reinforcing the cut so the board wouldn’t split. I used that to open the cover. It was around this time that I created the quiz and when I wrote the question, instead of talking about swimming pool pumps, I changed the example to be about jars. The problem with this example is that it is a common stereotype that women need help opening jars. That thought never crossed my mind until I got the feedback. If anybody takes this quiz in the future and doesn’t see a question about jars, it’s because I changed it. I’m always open to feedback.
Im 13 years old and I’m trying to learn coding so some of the questions didn’t apply to me but still loved it and then last question was defiantly I spend all my time in front of the computer
That’s great and you’ll find that coding lets you learn new things and continue to grow. I still learn new things and it makes my day. The really exciting moments are when I learn something that causes me to rethink long-held beliefs. Look for these moments because they will let you grow the most. I also recently got some great feedback on the questions and will be changing some of them and maybe adding some more to include viewpoints other than my own.

My intention was never to discourage people from coding but I can see how the current results could be interpreted that way. Because when coding, you’ll face problems and difficult bugs. If you give up too easy, then you will struggle with coding. The questions in this quiz are designed to highlight areas you can improve. None of these are dealbreakers. The last question also asks about how much you enjoy working with computers. If you enjoy doing something, you’ll naturally get better.
The questions are visible and the answers are multiple choice. Your answers to this quiz are your own and are not stored. This quiz is intended to give you insight into what can help you become a better programmer. I don’t mean that you need to master all of these. And there might be other qualities that are important too. These are what I’ve noticed can help and I’d like to share them in a fun way.

The questions and multiple choice are visible but when you come to the end of the quiz and click ‘submit’, no results appear. An error message comes up instead and you can’t go to the previous page to try and resubmit so all answer choices are gone.

I’m trying to keep the quiz up on the site even if the answers are broken. If the problem continues, I might have to remove the quiz or find a new plugin. Please note that there are no right or wrong answers for this quiz. Pay attention to the types of questions I’m asking and try to apply the question to your own skills and natural tendencies. These questions are the types of things that I feel help make a good programmer. Things like an attention to detail and the ability to keep working on problems without giving up are really important. You can learn new skills. Learning how to maintain your focus or building a determination to continue are much harder.
