E42Setup03 – How to setup your Linux computer for coding.

August 17, 2019 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm EDT

Prepaid through Classes or Patreon

Start with this session if you have no idea what it means to program a computer. This is part of the Essential 42 Live Classes.

There are three versions of this session. This one is for Linux. Choose the one that matches the type of computer you’ll be using. At the end of the hour you’ll have your own app that you can run and you’ll be able to make changes on your own to get your app to do new things.

You’ll learn how to setup your computer for programming and install everything to get started in about 20 minutes. The other classes and sessions will use this setup and will be mostly the same after this initial setup.

You’ll also learn how to use the development tools just installed and begin writing your first program. It’ll be simple at first and just print some text to the screen. But you’ll know how and where to extend your application to do more.

This is an online session that you can attend from anywhere. All you need is a good internet connection and your computer. It will help if you have a large monitor or even two monitors so that you can watch and follow along at the same time. Headphones or earbuds with a microphone are recommended to avoid echos.

This is a live session where you can ask questions if you like. Or you can listen and learn and follow along without asking anything if that makes you more comfortable.

We recommend that you plan to join a few minutes early to give yourself time to connect. Click the Venue, for details on how to join.

This is the session reservation that you can attend as many times as you want once you purchase the class.
